Matthew Kendall FCA - Managing Director

Matthew is a Chartered Accountant and has worked in accountancy for over 20 years.  He thoroughly enjoys his job and is very proud of his profession.  He has experience in working with various sized businesses and with individuals from a wide range of industries.

Matt started the firm twelve years ago and is passionate about providing a high-quality, personal service to every client.  He works in all areas of the business.  As well as being experienced in the more traditional aspects of accountancy, Matt also focuses on using the latest technology, in particular cloud-based services, enabling client's accounts to be more secure, more accessible and, in many cases, more cost-effective.

Outside of the office Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and baby daughter. He also likes watching rugby league, hill walking and camping.

David Kendall FCCA

David is our Office Manager and is an FCCA qualified Accountant, he has worked in accountancy for 17 years.

Dave has experience working with a wide variety of clients and types of businesses. He now specialises in year-end accounts and corporation tax.

In his role as Office Manager he supports the ongoing training and development of our staff and coordinates the day to day workflow in the office ensuring that deadlines are met.

David enjoys playing football in a local 5-a-side league and enjoys watching sport, particularly rugby league and also Hull City where he is a season passholder. 

Joanne Hall

Jo has worked in accountancy for many years and so has extensive experience in providing services to small and medium sized businesses. She is an Assistant Accountant and is our Sage and Management Accounting Specialist. Jo mainly works on the preparation of management accounts, VAT and personal tax returns. She also provides payroll and bookkeeping services and is a Certified Advisor for Quickbooks.

Thomas Hood MAAT

I work in the preparation of accounts and with the calculation of various taxes including VAT, CIS and corporation tax.

I offer support to clients with setting up their software, providing them training and answering their queries to enable software to support them more efficiently.

In my spare time I enjoy going to gigs, and on quieter nights enjoy reading a book along with my cat Trixie!

Samantha Harrod MAAT, Part-ACCA

Sam is an MAAT Accountant and is part-ACCA qualified. She has worked in accountancy for the majority of her career, predominantly in practice and also some time in industry.

Sam manages our personal tax work. Sam also undertakes accounts preparation, year-end accounting and supervises the work of junior staff. 

Angela Lawson 

Angela is our Payroll Manager. She has many years experience and covers all aspects of our payroll and auto-enrolment work.

Billy Mountain 

My role within the office is to prepare & submit VAT and CIS returns on a monthly/quarterly basis, along with the processing and submission of payroll on a weekly and monthly basis. I also help out with the preparation of annual accounts for limited companies and sole trader tax returns.

Outside of work I like to play football and watch football on a regular basis, as well as attending the gym frequently. I also like to spend time with my friends, family and girlfriend by going out for for food, drinks and on holidays.

Laura McCoid 

Laura is an Assistant Accountant with several years experience working in practice. She is AAT Level 3 qualified and is presently studying for the Level 4 qualification.

Ehsan Zubair 

Ehsan is a Trainee Accountant and is currently undertaking AAT Level 3.  He works in all areas of our firm but is currently focusing on accounts preparation. He also deals with our IT and software systems.

Rebecca Allen MAAT

My main jobs are Bookkeeping, CIS and VAT returns. AAT Level 4 qualified in 2016 and have worked within practice and industry for many years.

Outside of work I like spending days out with my husband and three young children, going away for short breaks in our caravan, baking, gardening and the gym. We also have a dog who we regularly take for walks on the beach.

Thomas Clubley

I am a Trainee Accountant and currently studying for the AAT qualification. I do a lot of bookkeeping work which requires me to be fluent in the use of a variety of softwares, of which I mainly use Quickbooks and Xero. Outside of work, I enjoy solving Rubik's Cubes and other puzzle cubes

Mia Barton

Mia is an Accountancy Apprentice and joined our team in 2024.

Holly Richardson 

Holly is an Accountancy Apprentice and joined our team in 2024.

Jim Doyle FCMA

Jim works with us to provide Non-Executive solutions.  As well as this Jim provides valuable advice to assist with acquisitions, university spin-outs and turnaround situations.
